Microcosms

This is what happens when I try to clean my room and find some empty jars, and some other things…

Time

Last week, I found that the only thing lacking in my life was a wall calendar, so I gave myself a challenge – I wanted to create a minimalistic one on Photoshop (probably not the BEST program for the job but it’s the one I know best). It is just under 3x A4 pages when printed.

It’s only Feb-June, but I can easily whip up a full year calendar… You may download the pdf. If it pleases your senses and you want more months or different colours, feel free to ask! I may just do it!

It’s been a long time between posts. I became lazy with documenting things, and I’m sure no one reads this any more, but here goes. I HAVE been making things, just not blogging about them.

Last night I whipped out some lovely green Sculpey that I had lying around and made some buttons which should eventually end up on things that I knit.

Sweet

Rocky road, originally uploaded by AdinaBean.

My little brother and I made Rocky Road yesterday. He is nearly 10, super cool, and has requested that I tell you (all of my 1 reader) that the young child appearing in the photo below is not, in fact, him. It is George Bush.

It tastes amazing, because it is.

Sac

Sac, originally uploaded by AdinaBean.

I sewed this a while back. It is made with a lot of love, and has pockets, lining, velcro, ribbon, and so on. Don’t forget the mushrooms!

A lot of effort and careful planning paid off.

Cross

My first cross stich!, originally uploaded by AdinaBean.

My first cross-stich project. It’s about 5cm tall/wide. I am pleased with it. It’s time-consuming and very relaxing. Another thing to add to my list of relatively useless but fun skills.

If any of my 2 readers know of some great source of interesting pixelart that I could cross-stitch, do let me know! :D

Vinyl

stickers for my moleskines, originally uploaded by AdinaBean.

Long ago I ordered loads of fantastic plain vinyl for making stickers. 8 colours, and 16 square feet of the stuff all up. I finally made some! These are directly based on the little critters on my Paperchase water bottle. They help me work out which notebook is for Language Acquisition and which is for Indigenous Languages.

Testing

1) I love this photo. It reminds me of the film “The Science of Sleep”. Paper/cotton clouds are magical

2) I’m mostly just testing how Flickr automatically blogs photos.

3) Happy Tuesday!

(head)case

My first real zipper attempts (the previous cushion doesn’t count)… Adapted from this fantastic tutorial.

Squishy

I’ve just finished sewing this cushion cover. It’s from this tutorial.

It was surprisingly quick and easy to make, and I’m not quite a dab hand at this sewing business. Very exciting stuff!
